About us
General terms and conditions
Golden Planet provides server space, marketing and development of internet services to businesses – both end users and resellers – including people who are in the process of starting a business. Golden Planet works hard to offer our customers first-class services, customer service and expertise, and constantly strives to improve so that we can offer our customers the best possible basis for all their internet-based activities. As part of these efforts, Golden Planet has both legal and ethical rules that must be observed in connection with the services provided.
Golden Planet's ethical rules are set out below. Golden Planet reserves the right to suspend or terminate a customer's access to any service provided by Golden Planet if we find that the service has been misused.
Continuity of operation
Golden Planet aims to keep its services running 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Experience shows that our servers have a general availability of approximately 99.9%, and the approximately 0.1% of downtime is typically planned restarts in connection with system updates, including security updates. Should longer interruptions occur contrary to expectations, Golden Planet is not liable for any resulting loss, whether direct or indirect; see, however, the section Exclusion of liability.
Unauthorised use of other people's accounts or computers
Golden Planet will take firm action against anyone who uses or attempts to use a user account or equipment without the necessary permission. Such attempts include (but are not limited to) internet scamming (tricking other people into disclosing their password or credit card details), spamming (sending unsolicited bulk emails), password theft, scanning for possible security holes, etc.
Any unauthorised use of accounts or equipment by Golden Planet's customers, whether it is an attack on accounts or equipment at Golden Planet or elsewhere, will result in immediate action against the attacker or abuser. Possible action may be a warning, suspension or termination of the account, and legal proceedings, depending on the seriousness of the attack.
Misuse of traffic and disk space
Customers may not keep large archives of files that others can download free of charge.
Any customer who breaches Golden Planet's terms on misuse of disk space and/or traffic will be charged the costs incurred as a result. Any customer who resells disk space and/or bandwidth other than in accordance with the terms for resale will receive a warning, termination or suspension, depending on the case. If you wish to resell services provided by Golden Planet, we recommend that you contact us to set up a special reseller agreement instead of an ordinary user account.
Commercial advertising by email
Unsolicited commercial advertising by email is not permitted and will result in the immediate closure of your account. Commercial advertising via mailing lists with active opt-in is permitted, but any complaints will be investigated and may lead to warnings, suspension or closure of your account if Golden Planet finds that the mailing list is being run in an unethical manner, for example if users' requests to be removed from the list are not complied with.
Virus and spam filtering
As far as possible, Golden Planet filters emails for known viruses and spam when they are sent through Golden Planet's mail servers, but we cannot guarantee 100% removal of either viruses or spam and cannot be held liable for damage resulting from emails that get through this filtering. If, contrary to expectations, the filtering should cause instability for the entire mail system, it may be switched off with simultaneous or prior notice.
Backup
Golden Planet runs a backup procedure once a day. Data can be restored for a fee of €135 excl. VAT. If the data loss is due to an error on Golden Planet's part, the restore is free of charge. Golden Planet does not guarantee that data can be restored from the backup media and recommends that customers keep their own copy of important data.
Payment terms
All accounts/services are paid for by invoice with 30 days' credit – there is nothing to pay in advance when a service is set up – unless otherwise agreed between the customer and Golden Planet. Installation fees are non-refundable unless this is specifically offered. Golden Planet may change its prices with the notice set out in the section Changes. The customer is responsible for paying for a service from the time it is set up until it has been terminated in accordance with the terms of termination.
Card payments can be made online on our payment page or by setting up automatic charging with Dankort, Visa/Dankort, Visa or Mastercard. Payment is made in the currency stated when ordering and shown on the invoice – Danish kroner for purchases via goldenplanet.dk and euros for purchases via goldenplanet.com – unless otherwise agreed between the customer and Golden Planet. Invoices are sent by email.
Payments received from the debtor are applied to the outstanding balance in the following order: interest – fees – instalments/payment for other services.
If payment for a service or any other amount due is late, the debtor must pay default interest of 2% per month or part of a month. Default interest is calculated on the outstanding balance at any time from the date of default, including interest and costs. Interest is added monthly (compound interest). If the customer is a consumer, however, default interest is calculated in accordance with the rules of the Danish Interest Act (renteloven).
In the event of late payment, Golden Planet may charge a reminder fee of €11 per reminder letter where there is reasonable cause to send it, but for no more than 3 reminder letters concerning the same payment and with at least 10 days between them, in accordance with section 9 b of the Interest Act.
Changes to fees and interest rates are notified in the same way as price changes; see the section Changes. However, a change that follows directly from legislation may take effect without notice.
Automatic card payment
For agreements on automatic card payment, the following terms apply in addition to Golden Planet's general terms for the delivery and operation of services.
An agreement on automatic card payment means that payment for subscriptions and other services is made by automatic transfer of the invoice amount from the customer's payment card to Golden Planet.
The customer signs up for automatic card payment when ordering, or later via self-service.
When signing up for automatic card payment, the customer is also signed up to receive invoices/receipts by email. A confirmation is sent to the customer by email when an agreement on automatic card payment is set up or changed.
It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the registered payment card is valid and that the card details are updated in the event of expiry, blocking, loss or similar circumstances that may prevent automatic card payment. Card details are updated or deleted via self-service.
If the customer has signed up for automatic card payment and the automatic card payment cannot be completed for reasons attributable to the customer (e.g. if the payment is declined by the customer or by the customer's bank), Golden Planet is entitled to send the customer a reminder. The reminder is sent by email.
Golden Planet is entitled to charge a reminder fee for this; see the section Payment terms.
Right of withdrawal
Golden Planet gives a full 30-day right of withdrawal on orders for services, from the time of ordering. If the customer withdraws within the 30 days, amounts paid for the service concerned are refunded. For business customers, the right of withdrawal is a voluntary, contractual right. Domain name registrations, however, must be cancelled immediately upon receipt of the order confirmation at the latest, as they take effect directly in the internet's name system immediately after they have been carried out, after which they run for a minimum of 1 year. Customer-specific services such as customisation or programming tasks cannot be refunded under any circumstances.
Exclusion of liability
The customer accepts that Golden Planet is not liable for any direct or indirect loss, damage or expense incurred by the customer or third parties that arises in connection with the use of services provided by Golden Planet. This applies to all matters relating to the customer's account, including (but not limited to) loss of website content or of ownership of domain names.
The exclusions and limitations of liability in these terms do not apply where the loss has been caused intentionally or by gross negligence on the part of Golden Planet, nor to the extent that liability cannot be excluded under mandatory provisions of law.
Termination
Golden Planet reserves the right to terminate a service at any time. All fees/rental charges etc. paid in advance will be refunded pro rata if Golden Planet exercises its right of termination. If the termination is due to the customer's breach of these terms, no refund will be made. Any extra costs resulting from a breach of the terms will be charged to the customer (e.g. traffic, disk space, etc.).
The customer may terminate a service at any time with effect from the end of the current period. If the billing period is 3 months or less, amounts paid are not refunded; for billing periods of more than 3 months, the remaining period minus 3 months is refunded.
Domain registrations MUST be terminated no later than 1 month before the end of the current period, and remaining periods cannot be refunded.
Notice of termination is given in the customer control panel PlanetController under ‘Cancel services’. If you do not have access to PlanetController, please contact us at info@goldenplanet.com and we will help you. Please note that re-delegating the DNS of a domain name to other name servers does not constitute termination of any services at Golden Planet – all terminations MUST be made via PlanetController or in writing to Golden Planet and must be confirmed by Golden Planet.
Terminations are not valid until the customer has received a confirmation by email from Golden Planet, which usually happens within 24 hours on working days. Please contact Golden Planet if you have sent a notice of termination and have not received a confirmation within three working days. Any refund will be made no later than 15 days after receipt of the notice of termination, provided that Golden Planet has been given a bank account number to which the refund can be made.
Data export and switching provider
For services that are data processing services under the EU Data Act (Regulation (EU) 2023/2854) – e.g. online shop and hosting – the customer may at any time have its data exported and made available to it, or switch to another provider or to its own IT infrastructure. This applies to the data that the customer has entered or created through the use of its solution, including relevant metadata, e.g. products, customers and orders. Data is exported in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, and Golden Planet provides reasonable assistance on request. The customer can export its data itself as CSV and via the API free of charge. Golden Planet's program code and design templates are not included to the extent that they are Golden Planet's trade secrets or intellectual property rights. The platform's servers and backups are located with Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany.
The request must be made in writing, e.g. by email to info@goldenplanet.com. Golden Planet may ask for the documentation necessary to establish that the request comes from the customer, but the customer is not required to provide its password. If the customer wishes to switch provider, move to its own IT infrastructure or have its data deleted, the period of notice is no more than 2 months. This is followed by a transitional period of no more than 30 days, during which Golden Planet provides reasonable assistance and maintains the operation and security of the service. If it is technically unfeasible to complete the switch within 30 days, Golden Planet will notify the customer, stating its reasons, no later than 14 working days after the request and will specify an alternative transitional period of no more than 7 months. The customer may extend the transitional period once, by a period the customer considers appropriate. The agreement ends when the switch has been completed or, if the customer only wishes its data to be deleted, when the period of notice expires, and Golden Planet notifies the customer of the termination.
The customer can retrieve its data for at least 30 days after the end of the transitional period. When the switch has been completed and that period has expired – or when the period of notice has expired, if the customer only wishes its data to be deleted – the customer's data is deleted unless Golden Planet is required by law to keep it; personal data that Golden Planet processes on behalf of the customer is returned or deleted in accordance with the data processing agreement. Until 12 January 2027, any switching charge may not exceed Golden Planet's direct costs of the switch; from that date, no switching charges are made.
Registration of domain names
When registering domain names, the customer accepts the terms in force at any time for those domain names from the individual registrars/registries.
These can be read here:
.dk: Terms for the right to use a .dk domain name (Punktum dk, in Danish) (opens in a new tab)
.com/.net/.org/.info/.biz/.eu etc.: the terms of the individual registrar/registry.
Changes
The prices and terms on our website apply as of today's date. These terms were last changed on 26 October 2026.
Price changes are notified to our customers at least 3 months in advance. The date of the latest change to these terms is shown on the invoice sent, together with a web address where the terms can be reviewed, and the terms are accepted by payment for ongoing services that have not been terminated.
VAT
As Golden Planet mainly sells services to businesses, all prices are stated excl. VAT unless otherwise stated. VAT is charged in accordance with the place-of-supply rules: customers in Denmark are invoiced with 25% Danish VAT. Where the conditions for the reverse charge are met – typically for businesses in another EU country that provide a valid VAT number – invoices are issued without Danish VAT and state that the reverse charge applies. For other customers outside Denmark, the VAT treatment depends on the service and the customer's circumstances.
Lawful purposes
Golden Planet reserves the right to refuse service to anyone. Customers may only use Golden Planet's services for lawful purposes. This also applies to material protected by copyright. Golden Planet expressly prohibits anyone from advertising, distributing, storing, processing or otherwise handling indecent, pornographic or satanist material by means of services provided by Golden Planet. Golden Planet assesses carefully, objectively and proportionately, with due regard to the rights and legitimate interests of the parties concerned, whether this is the case, and gives the customer a statement of reasons if access to content or services is restricted (see the section Point of contact and notices of illegal content). Distribution of erotic material in any form requires the customer to obtain written permission from Golden Planet before distribution begins.
The customer must not in any way attempt to prevent Golden Planet's systems from functioning, including (but not limited to) attempts to circumvent identification procedures, unlawful access to services or data that the customer is not entitled to access, and affecting the availability, stability or quality of service for other customers. This includes running scripts and/or applications that use large amounts of system resources (e.g. memory, CPU power or network capacity). Nor may the customer attempt to affect other systems accessible via the internet, including attempts at unlawful intrusion.
Golden Planet reserves the right to close access to services provided by Golden Planet in whole or in part if we believe that the customer is taking part in activities which, in Golden Planet's judgement, are not in accordance with the terms of this document.
Point of contact and notices of illegal content
Golden Planet's point of contact for authorities and for users of our services under the Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065, DSA) is info@goldenplanet.com. You can write to us in Danish or English.
If you believe that a website or online shop hosted by Golden Planet contains illegal content, you can report it to the same address. The notice should contain an explanation of why the content is illegal, the exact web address, your name and email address (except for notices concerning offences referred to in Articles 3 to 7 of Directive 2011/93/EU on child sexual abuse), and a statement that you believe in good faith that the information in the notice is accurate and complete. Golden Planet handles notices in a timely, diligent, objective and non-arbitrary manner. If you have provided your email address, Golden Planet confirms receipt without undue delay and also informs you without undue delay of its decision and of the possibilities for complaining about it. If Golden Planet restricts access to content or services because the content is illegal or contrary to these terms, the customer receives, no later than when the restriction takes effect, a clear and specific statement of reasons, which also sets out the possibilities for challenging the decision.
Personal data
Golden Planet processes personal data about the customer's own customers and others as a processor for the customer under Golden Planet's data processing agreement. How Golden Planet, as controller, processes information about the customer and the customer's contact persons is described in the privacy policy.
Additional terms for resellers
A maximum of one basic reseller plan may be created per legal entity (person or organisation).
If a customer wishes to switch from one Golden Planet reseller to another, Golden Planet reserves the right to comply with the customer's request without the direct consent of the losing reseller if one of two conditions is met: it is not possible, after repeated attempts, to contact the reseller by email or telephone (e.g. if the business has ceased trading), or the reseller tries to block a transfer of the customer's services to another reseller without being able to give a legitimate reason for the blocking. In these cases, the customer's request for a transfer must be made in writing.
Monitoring and automatic adjustment of prices
Golden Planet cannot guarantee that the prices obtained by monitoring competitors are correct. Use of price information is at the customer's own risk. Nor can Golden Planet guarantee that every price can be retrieved or monitored, and a price that could previously be retrieved may stop being updated without notice. Golden Planet cannot be held responsible or liable for loss resulting from the price monitoring service or related functions, including – but not limited to – automatic adjustment of prices.
Design templates
All design templates from Golden Planet are intended as a starting point. Each template is sold several times to different customers. If you do not customise a template, you may therefore find that you have the same design as another shop. There is no right of return or right of withdrawal on design templates. Copying parts of design templates is not permitted unless the template has been purchased or a specific agreement to that effect has been made. All design templates may only be used on Golden Planet's platform. In the event of unauthorised use of templates, the template must be removed immediately.
Governing law and jurisdiction
The agreement is governed by Danish law. If the customer is a consumer, the choice of law does not limit the protection that the consumer enjoys under mandatory rules. Disputes between Golden Planet and business customers that cannot be settled amicably are decided by the District Court in Kolding (Retten i Kolding), Denmark, as the court of first instance. For consumers, the statutory rules on jurisdiction apply.
