Requirements for using the e-conomic integration

To use the integration with e-conomic (the Danish online accounting system), you need a plan that includes it.

If you have a free demo, you can activate the integration and set it up completely there. Just remember, when you order your real shop, to choose a plan that includes the e-conomic integration.

Frequently asked questions

How often is stock updated from e-conomic?

If you manage your stock in e-conomic and have chosen to fetch stock information from e-conomic to your online shop, all changes made within the last hour are fetched every 15 minutes. We go an hour back in case there has been, e.g., a short break in the connection to e-conomic.

Can I have several online shops connected to the same e-conomic?

Yes, you can link as many online shops to your e-conomic agreement as you like.

All the shops will then use the same stock and the same customers, and create orders in the same accounts with consecutive numbers.

What you need to watch out for is the integration's setting for the word each shop uses to identify its data in e-conomic. That word must be different for each shop.

Apart from that, you simply create the products in each shop that you want to sell in that shop. As soon as the integration sees a product number that exists in e-conomic, it imports the data you have asked it to import and makes sure the product data is the same as in e-conomic.

How do I find a customer from e-conomic in my online shop?

The quick answer is: search for the email address. A customer's email address is always unique in the shop.

But in e-conomic you can also go to the customer's contacts and see the shop's ID/customer no.

It appears together with the shop's identification word in the data of the e-conomic contact person, in the field “ID (e-faktura)” (the e-invoice ID).

What is the "Default" payment method in the settings?

Default simply means that if you haven't made a choice in the field for a specific method, the Default choice is used.

So if you use the same choice for all the methods in a group, you only need to fill in the “Default” choice, and it will then be used for all the methods.

It is mainly there so that, when you add a new method, you don't have to remember to go in and set up the integration.

The integration can use the choices from Default until you make a specific setup.

How do I import products from e-conomic?

Once the integration is set up, products are imported automatically from e-conomic when they change – whether directly on the product or through a stock adjustment, an order, an invoice or a purchase invoice.

Import is also only possible into products that already exist with the same product number. The product data in e-conomic falls so far short of what an online shop needs that we haven't seen any benefit in creating products as part of the import from e-conomic.

How does e-conomic handle variant products?

There are no variants in e-conomic, so each variant has its own product with a unique product number.

The shop handles this by giving every variant its own product number. When the variants are exported to e-conomic, they are referenced by that unique product number, and the shop then takes the relevant shared data from the main product.

It does change the product title, though, so that the main product's title is used together with the variant information: the size attribute and the size itself are written in brackets after the main title. That way you can still see in e-conomic that it is a variant.

Customer's EAN number reported as invalid

For an order with an EAN number (typically from a Danish public-sector or municipal customer, which is invoiced electronically via its EAN number) to be transferred to e-conomic, the EAN number must be valid. If you get an error about it, correct the EAN number both on the order (edit the order and change it under the customer) PLUS on the customer account itself. Then transfer the order to e-conomic.
