Text field on products

You can put a text field on your products. For example, if you have a product that customers can have a text engraved on, or a product they can have a couple of lines embroidered on. Now you can create custom text fields on your products.
Create a text field
You create a text field for your products by going to Product catalogue > Variants and attributes.
When you choose the type, you can choose whether the field should be required or optional to fill in.
For example, you can create a variant called Text line 1 – which is required. And a variant called Text line 2 – which is optional to fill in.
The customer then has to fill in the first line of text, and can fill in the second line too if they wish.

Add a text field to your products
Now you need to add the field to the right product.
Go to Product catalogue > Categories and products, find the product you want to add the text field to and choose Edit.
Then choose the Attributes tab.
In there, click Add new, choose the attribute you want to add and click Save.
If you have more text fields to add, just add more.
In the example below, two lines have been added – in the shop, these two lines are shown one below the other, just below the price.
Notice that the top one has a small asterisk: this means it is required and MUST be filled in. The customer will get a message that the product cannot be added to the basket unless there is some text in that field.
Field number 2 has been made optional.
You can create as many fields, required or optional, as you like.
If you can't see the fields when you look in the shop, or if you want to move them somewhere else, you need to go into the design view.
Go to Content and layout > Layout tool. When the layout tool has opened, choose Product pages in the top left-hand corner.
Then you can drag in the element called Attributes or, if you already have it, move it to the position you want by drag and drop.
