By connecting your spreadsheet to an AI such as ChatGPT, you can work with the data in your spreadsheets in a completely new way.

For example, write new product descriptions, translate texts, analyse prices and everything else you can do with AI.

Here are two plugins that can connect your spreadsheet to AI.

1: Sheetmagic

This one works in Google Sheets. We use it ourselves and have had good experiences with it. They describe it themselves with these points:

  • Use ChatGPT: Generate AI content and AI images in Google Sheets.
  • Scrape the internet: Fetch live data from websites and search results pages.
  • Analyse data: Summarise content, classify data and categorise information.
  • Clean data: Clean lists, extract key information and organise your data.
  • Plus much more, all within your spreadsheets.

Sheetmagic can currently be bought via AppSumo here (pay once and avoid a monthly price) (opens in a new tab)

If it is “sold out” there, you can go to their own site here. (opens in a new tab)

2: Autosheet (formerly GPT for Work)

You can use this one with both Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel. You can use several different AI/LLM models. On the other hand, you have to buy them through GPT for Work. We have no experience with it ourselves, but think it looks interesting if you want to work with Excel or with models other than ChatGPT.

They describe it themselves with these points:

  • Data preparation: clean lists, extract entities, normalise formats
  • Analysis: summarise, classify, categorise
  • Works with AI models from several providers, including OpenAI (ChatGPT) and Anthropic (Claude)

Autosheet can be bought here via their site (opens in a new tab)
